DWTS Pro Alan Bersten Can't Thank His Fans Enough For Their Support (Exclusive)

Alan Bersten chatted with JustJared.com is over the moon about his first performance — and even more about his fans!

The Dancing With the Stars pro opened up to JJJ about all the support coming his way and he could not be more grateful.

“It’s the best feeling of all, first to know that you’re a part of this amazing family that is DWTS, then to have all the support from the fans — it’s surreal,” he says.

Alan adds, “It builds a lot of pressure, actually, because I don’t want to let anyone down. I don’t want to let the fans down by choreographing a bad routine or anything. But it’s nice to have the support and the confidence from all of them too.”

He also told us that he has a ton of support from all the other dancers on the show as well.

“They are just extremely helpful,” Alan says. “If I ever need anything, they would gladly help me. We’re one big family and that feels great.”

New DWTS Pro Alan Bersten Loves Knowing Useless Facts (Exclusive)

New DWTS Pro Alan Bersten Loves Knowing Useless Facts (Exclusive)

The moment we heard that Alan Bersten was going to be a pro on Dancing With the Stars this season, we were so excited!

Now, the new pro will actually be blogging for our sister site, JustJared.com!

It sounds like he and partner Debbie Gibson are off to an amazing start too.

“If there was one word to describe our partnership, it would be joy!” Alan tells JJJ. “We both have so much fun when we are together. I am very nurturing and supportive when I teach, but I can also be very strict, especially when we have a deadline.

He adds, “You can expect to see beautiful, inspirational, and exciting dances from Debbie and me on this season of Dancing With the Stars. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on.”

Check out 10 Fun Facts about Alan below!

  • I love to do karaoke even though I can’t carry a tune. Hopefully Debbie can teach me how to sing a little bit!
  • I love knowing useless facts. Did you know that on the back of a $5 bill you can see 26 states that are listed on the top of the Lincoln Memorial? Check it out!
  • One of my favorite radio stations is Seriously Sinatra. If I could go back in time I would travel to the 1960s and be in the Rat Pack. (I still wouldn’t be able to sing, but maybe they needed a dancer?)
  • Dancing wasn’t big where I grew up in Minnesota, but my parents opened a dance studio for my siblings and I to learn at because they really wanted us to dance. My brother now owns the studio. It’s called “Dance With Us America” and I teach there whenever I go home.
  • No matter how healthy I try to eat, if I see gummy bears, you better believe I’m going to eat them all.

Val & Maksim Chmerkovskiy Are Seriously Proud & Happy That Alan Bersten is a DWTS Pro

Val & Maksim Chmerkovskiy Are Seriously Proud & Happy That Alan Bersten is a DWTS Pro

Fans of Dancing With the Stars have been waiting for the moment when Alan Bersten was announced as a pro for a long time — and they are seriously stoked.

But their excitement has nothing on brothers, and fellow pros, Val and Maks Chmerkovskiy.

“It’s been a longer journey [for him] than most of us who jumped from the troupe and onto the show so, I’m very proud of him,” Maks shared with ET after the pro announcement this week.

He adds, He’s done a phenomenal job last season standing in for me with Heather [Morris], and Heather was not an easy partner to just jump into and help out. This is a very well deserved job.”

“It feels amazing to finally get my shot,” Alan shared. “Last season I got to fill in with Heather for Maks, so it’s nice to have Maks by my side and help walk me through my first interview [as a pro].”

Val also wrote Alan a fun note on Twitter, welcoming him to the pro club. Check it out below:

DWTS Troupe Dancer Alan Bersten Is A Tough Teacher, Heather Morris Reveals

There’s no doubt that Alan Bersten needs to be a pro on Dancing With The Stars…and Heather Morris definitely agrees.

Heather, who was the surprise elimination on this season of the show, talked with ET about dancing with Alan while Maksim Chmerkovskiy was out with an injury.

“We all know he needs to be [a pro],” she says. “Maks said it and we need to say it again. He’s so professional and just so funny. He is someone we need to see on that stage every week.”

Heather also opened up about his teaching style — which was much tougher than even she expected.

Alan was a lot tougher of a choreographer than Maks was,” she shared. “Maks has been doing it for so long, so he was just like, ‘OK, whatever makes you feel comfortable, if you need to relax, go relax.’”

“Whereas Alan wanted to make sure it was good and perfect, so he really made sure to rehearse it as much as we could so that it was in my body. So, in the end, I think Alan ended up being a harder teacher.”

Tune into DWTS tomorrow night, where Alan will be dancing with Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy for their trio dance.
