'Andi Mack' Takes On Social Injustice in Tomorrow's Brand New Episode - First Look Clip!

Andi Mack has already tackled a ton of issues on the series — Buffy went out for the boy’s basketball team, Cyrus realized his feelings for another guy, and now, Andi is going to take on social injustice.

Tomorrow’s all new episode is one you NEED to see, where a “social justice experiment” divides Andi (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and her classmates into two groups — A and B — with skewed rules that disadvantage one group.

As the lesson quickly descends the school into slight chaos, Andi takes a stand while exposing the group’s reactions to inequality.

This proves that Andi is not only smart and savvy — she’s woke. We can’t wait to see how she handles the situation on the show.

Tune in TOMORROW, December 1st @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

Sofia Wylie has been a big part of Andi Mack‘s groundbreaking storylines — and that’s not about to change anytime soon.

The actress’s character Buffy just made the boys basketball team and was the one who talked to Cyrus right after he realized his feelings for Jonah.

“It’s a story for everyone,” Sofia shared with Prune magazine. “Its’ characters and storylines will give everyone a chance to see themselves. The show is a direct reflection of the world today.”

She adds that both “kids and adults will be able to relate to the characters and storyline.”

Andi Mack's Joshua Rush & Peyton Elizabeth Lee Talk About Acceptance Theme in Season 2

Andi Mack's Joshua Rush & Peyton Elizabeth Lee Talk About Acceptance Theme in Season 2

Andi Mack came out strong with their second season premiere last week with a powerful storyline where Cyrus realizes his feelings for Jonah on the Disney Channel program.

It’s a storyline that creator Terri Minsky worked on with child development experts and screened for organizations such as GLAAD and PFLAG.

“I know there are a lot of kids out there who think that they’re weird and different,” she shared in a new featurette. “I guess I kind of wanted Buffy to say it to all of them, and I wanted it to feel like acceptance.”

Joshua Rush adds that he “hopes people, out of Cyrus’s storyline, get this feeling like you can be who are, and if there’s something you’re thinking about, you should talk about it.”

Peyton Elizabeth Lee is more than proud about storyline, saying that she loves that the show can create conversation between families.

“I hope it gives kids the confidence to be proud of who they are and just be happy with themselves,” she shared. “All of the stories in Andi Mack, particularly Cyrus’ story, give this amazing opportunity to open conversation between parents and kids, or between friends.”

Disney Channel's 'Andi Mack' Banned in Kenya Following Gay Storyline

Disney Channel's 'Andi Mack' Banned in Kenya Following Gay Storyline

Andi Mack‘s brand new season premiered just last week with a storyline that sees Cyrus realize his feelings for Jonah.

While many fans welcomed the inclusive storyline, the country of Kenya did not.

Variety reports that the Kenya Film Classification Board’s chief executive Ezekial Mutua issued a statement earlier this week that the show would not be allowed to air in Kenya and “any attempt to introduce gay programming in Kenya will be met with the full force of the law.”

The statement goes on to say that “homosexuality goes against the collective and values of the people of Kenya.”

Mutua said in a Facebook post that the board “has a duty to protect children from exposure to harmful film and [broadcast] content,” adding “Gay Content Will Not Air in Kenya…PERIOD!”

Kenya has also banned seven cartoons programs from the airwaves because of what Mutua described as “retrogressive and bizarre messages intended to promote the [LGBT] agenda.”

Andi Mack airs Fridays on Disney Channel.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee & 'Andi Mack' Cast Thank Fans For Support After Premiere

Peyton Elizabeth Lee & 'Andi Mack' Cast Thank Fans For Support After Premiere

Andi Mack just premiered season two last night and the response from fans has been incredible!

Peyon Elizabeth Lee and the rest of the cast all took the chance to thank viewers for their positive reactions and praise for the episode.

“An enormous thank you to everyone who watched our premiere last night. I couldn’t be more proud of Andi Mack. It supports and celebrates everything I believe in so strongly. My heart leaps from my chest every time I see that incredibly portrayed scene between Josh and Sofia, and frankly any time I see any cuts of the episodes,” Peyton wrote.

She added, “I believe in the world we live in. I believe that we can all stand together. Hand in hand. I believe that the love in the world can beat the hate. And that the beautiful melody of kindness and support can drown out the unwelcome detestation. The fact that our show could add, in any way, to that energy. That invincible force pulling us all together. I could not ask for anything more. #yourenodifferent”

Joshua Rush said that he was “overwhelmed by all the support” while Sofia Wylie added that she “can’t thank you all enough for the love!”
