Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa & Camila Mendes Rock Jughead's Signature Beanie

Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa & Camila Mendes Rock Jughead's Signature Beanie

Jughead wouldn’t be Jughead without his crown beanie — but it turns out that the entire Riverdale cast can rock that thing.

Cole Sprouse snapped his cast mates in Jughead’s signature headgear on the set last night in Vancouver, Canada — and they all look so cool.

The beanie — a whoopee cap — actually has a really special meaning behind it with the series and the original comics. It was really popular with young people right around the time Jughead made his comic book debut in 1941.

Factory workers actually used to invert their felt fedoras and chop off the brims so their eyesight wouldn’t be restricted while working. When they got new hats, they’d pass their old hat down to their kids.

Check out Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa and Camila Mendes rocking the cap below:

WBTV Responds to KJ Apa Car Accident Reports, Clarifies Details

WBTV Responds to KJ Apa Car Accident Reports, Clarifies Details

We’re still in shock over the details surrounding KJ Apa‘s car accident last week, but we’re so glad that he was not injured! Now, more details revealing what actually happened have been released via Riverdale studio WBTV.

It was initially reported that KJ had fallen asleep behind the wheel following a 16-hour workday, but WBTV says he actually worked 14.2 hours. Also, the previous day was a workday of just 2.5 hours.

The accident spurred calls from cast and crew to change conditions on set and allow for them to receive car services when working late hours. WBTV says that there is already a policy in place for cast and crew to be provided with “a taxi, a driver or a hotel room upon request.”

“The safety of the cast and crew on all of our productions is of paramount importance to the Studio. Productions adhere to the Screen Actors Guild–mandated turnaround time of 12 hours from wrap time to next day call time for cast members,” WBTV said in the statement. “In accordance with industry standard policy, if any cast or crew member feels tired or unsafe at any time after working, the Studio will provide a taxi, a driver or a hotel room upon request. This is communicated to all cast and crew, both in writing and verbally, at the beginning of production and is reiterated continuously throughout the duration of production.”

First 'Riverdale' Season Two Pics Show Veronica Comforting Archie After His Father is Shot

First 'Riverdale' Season Two Pics Show Veronica Comforting Archie After His Father is Shot

Veronica and Archie share a sweet moment in the hospital in these first look photos from the season premiere of Riverdale.

The show picks up right after Fred gets shot — something that star KJ Apa was kind of nervous about taking on.

“To be fair, I read that first episode of the second season and I was thinking I don’t know if I’m good enough to do this,” KJ shared with EW recently.

He adds, “I’m a new actor. I’m new to this kind of material and I was cushioning myself. I really have learned a lot this season and I think I’ve shot some of the best stuff I’ve ever done.”

Camila Mendes adds of Veronica’s arc for the season to come: “She wants to be respected as a member of the family and neither Hiram nor Hermione [Marisol Nichols] are allowing to be part of that.”

They have a plan for Riverdale and they keep it very secret.”

Riverdale returns to The CW on Wednesday, October 10th @ 8PM ET/PT.

Riverdale's KJ Apa Fell Asleep at the Wheel & Crashed His Car After Long Workday

Riverdale's KJ Apa Fell Asleep at the Wheel & Crashed His Car After Long Workday

KJ Apa was in a car accident and we’re thankfully able to report that he did not sustain any serious injuries.

The 20-year-old had apparently worked a long, 16 hour day on the Riverdale set in Vancouver, Canada last week. He then had to drive 45 minutes back home and fell asleep at the wheel.

THR reports that KJ was taken to the hospital and thankfully discharged without any major injuries.

Cole Sprouse, KJ‘s co-star, was also reportedly supposed to be with him in the car but his plans changed at the last minute.

KJ‘s car sustained damage and is now unusable.

The publication is reporting that because of this serious incident, cast and crew are demanding better safety and protection. Cole has apparently asked the show’s producers to provide transportation to and from set during late hours, which actually goes against WBTV’s policy.

We’re so glad KJ is okay after this scary incident.

'Riverdale' Sparks 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch' Spinoff at The CW

'Riverdale' Sparks 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch' Spinoff at The CW

A Sabrina The Teenage Witch series is officially in the works!

The series is being described as a companion to Riverdale, according to THR, and The CW is looking to develop the show, as “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”.

The hourlong drama would re-imagine the story of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft, naturally.

The new show is described as in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist and finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

Um, Dove Cameron, game time!

Camila Mendes Talks Varchie on 'Riverdale': 'They've Definitely Been Friskier'

Camila Mendes Talks Varchie on 'Riverdale': 'They've Definitely Been Friskier'

While Bughead may be on the rocks a bit on Riverdale, Varchie is heating up.

Camila Mendes didn’t waste any time in saying that Veronica and Archie are “even more sexual now” in season two, while chatting with EW.

She adds, “Death brings out certain passions or thirst for life. So they’ve definitely been friskier.”

However, that doesn’t mean that’s all this couple is about: “I think now because of all this darkness and stuff in Archie’s life and Veronica’s as well, their relationship does feel more grounded,” Camila says.

“It has more substance than just physical.”

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa says about this couple that “it’s sort of a bit more primal and volatile than say Jughead and Betty are.”

Riverdale returns on Wednesday, October 11th on The CW.

Lili Reinhart & Cole Sprouse Tease The Future of Bughead in 'Riverdale' Season 2

Lili Reinhart & Cole Sprouse Tease The Future of Bughead in 'Riverdale' Season 2

Bughead shippers, brace yourselves, because things between Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) are about to be strained on Riverdale.

Speaking with EW, Lili and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa opened up about the future of everyone’s favorite couple and it doesn’t look all that good.

“It’s like Romeo and Juliet,” she shared. “There’s definitely a divide between the north side and the south side of Riverdale and Betty’s on one side and Jughead’s on the other. You have to choose a side.”

Lili adds, “So it causes a rift between the two and a big divide and they start to be pulled away from each other. They can’t see each other as much and that causes some Bughead problems that might tear some people’s hearts out. But there has to be trouble in paradise. This is Riverdale and people die.”

Nope, not loving this.

Roberto adds that they are definitely are on different sides of the town, and that “Jughead goes on a pretty dark journey and that’s the tension in Betty and Jughead’s relationship.”

Riverdale returns on October 11th on The CW.

Lili Reinhart Teases How 'Riverdale's Season Two Theme Is Directly Related To Betty

Lili Reinhart Teases How 'Riverdale's Season Two Theme Is Directly Related To Betty

All summer long, we’ve been wanting to know more about the theme for Riverdale‘s upcoming season two — and now we have it!

Speaking with EW, both star Lili Reinhart and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa dish about the theme and what’s ahead for fans of the show.

“One of my favorite movies is Shadow of a Doubt, which is an Alfred Hitchcock movie which has often been described as Our Town with a killer on the loose. I was always obsessed with that idea,” Roberto says. “This season is a little bit of an homage to that.”

And the theme is something out of your childhood nightmares: “The big theme is what happens when you’re living with fear day in and day out that something terrible might happen. And how your life changes when you’re walking home from school and you see someone and you cross to the other side of the street. Or when you go to bed, you triple-check your front door to make sure it’s locked.”

Roberto and Lili go on to tease how Betty Cooper is at the center of it all.

“What we can say is that Betty’s speech in the finale at the jubilee about how the town needs to do better has repercussions,” Lili says.

And yes, Dark Betty is coming out to play.

“I would say by episode 4 and 5, Betty is absolutely in the heart of darkness,” the showrunner adds. “We’re putting her through the fires like never before.”

“I can’t say too much because there’s a couple of big twists, but Betty is absolutely at the heart of the darkest story we’re telling this season.”
